Outer Banks Vacation 2016

We were blessed enough to go on TWO family vacations this year- one with my in-laws and one with my side of the family. Driving from the most western part of Missouri to The very outer most banks of North Carolina is not exactly an easy drive with 9 kids but let's not focus on that right now...let's not ever focus on those four days of driving again...:)
The first stop (on day #2 of driving) was my sister and brother-in-laws Farm in Bahama, North Carolina. Blue Whistler Farm. Check them out! It was great to finally see their farm and all their animals. I'm so proud of her for living out her dreams, and so proud of her husband for being such a big supporter and farming right alongside her. From there we drove the 5 more hours to Frisco, North Carolina which is in Cape Hatteras, an island in the outer banks of NC. If you've seen 'Nights in Rodanthe'..that's where we went!
Milo ended up really sick from the get go and had a horrbile cough. We took him to a local dr office and they told us he had a mild case of croup and gave him oral steroids. He had a fever off and on for 7 days so it was pretty rough. I'm so glad he recovered ok though and we still got to enjoy the beach some. My older kids (and husband) could've stayed in the waves all day. I'm going to let the photos do the rest of the talking :) Shot on a Nikon D700, 35mm 1.4 lens!
